Default List of Preferred Destinations

My suggestion is to have a new panel which lists your preferred destinations across all campaigns. This way you wouldn't need to go through the main capitals (which are usually crowded) and then find your destination on the map.

I thought about that when travelling to the Sunspear Great Hall, which requires going through Kamadan all the time. It would also apply to locations like the Command Post, or Fort Aspenwood, or Droknar's Forge, or Eye of the North.

I guess that the implementation may be easy (simply do the jump to the Capital then to the chosen location) but it may have consequences on Anet's server architecture (I guess they use tricks to make sure it's done efficiently). But well, it's an idea to improve the user experience, and I'm pretty sure that if people are interested they'll find a way .

What do you think?

It's a pretty good idea since the loading times take longer nowadays.

I think it belongs into the Sardelac Sanitarium.

And I think it is a good idea. Having to go through Kamadan at peak times is not fun.

I've been thinking for a while now that anet could just add a toggle button somewhere on the map. So if you need to go cross campaign, rather than travelled to congested capital towns such as kaineng; you click the toggle view to see the other 2 overview maps, and immediately travel to.. wherever.

Yeah, this would be nice to have, and not take much effort. You could also avoid the several years of lag...Go to Kaineng...tick...tick...tick.....Go to HzH....tick...tick...tick....

Even better, why don't they add a "Favorites". It holds just a few (not too many to save the server) locations that you can quickly bookmark and travel to by double clicking on the one you want.

For example. Menu > Favorites > *comes up with a party type screen*

Favorites:
Doomlore Shrine
Hall of Monuments
Droknar's Forge
Lions Arch

It'd be nice just to have all major cities clickable on the boat icon.

Or perhaps one giant world map.

You could buy the 'service' to the xunlai agents. To talk to them, buy the service, and by talking to the Agent (or the chest or any contraption in places with no agents) you set that outpost a one of your destinations...

One per City should be enough.

To add cities to this list, you could have a "Add current location" button on the panel. This panel would in effect be an extended boat service and the Xunlai House could probably develop this "business" even further .

Bonus: you can add the Guild Hall, which could be selected by default.

I don't like the giant map idea for this particular feature, as it seems to me that it would be more difficult to select these "preferred destinations". But nevertheless the idea of a global map is a good one.

P.S.: I hope that in GW2, the location names are clickable and thus you will be able to travel easily to various places (e.g., when reading a quest description).
